- I'm grateful that today was both productive and fun. It's nice when those two things intersect. Glen and Jack let me sleep in and savor my deliciously sore muscles and blissed-outness from my weekend of yoga. We did errands in the morning, gardened while Jack napped, admired our painter's great work, went for a nice walk to the park, listened to music all day, enjoyed the great weather, and laughed a lot (Jack kept adorably misusing the words "scary monster" today: When I told him to stand back from daddy who was using a hatchet in the yard, he said: "Why daddy scary monster?" When he looked down from the top of a slide and decided it was too tall, he said: "Jack no like it. Jack scary monster!")
Tonight Glen and I were organized enough for once to have a little "staff meeting" and assign responsibilities for the week. It's such a dream to head into Monday feeling reasonably organized, refreshed, and ready to take on whatever the week has in store.
- I made hotel reservations tonight for Glen and I to spend three nights in Kansas City in July while our sweetpea stays with my parents. It may not sound terrribly exotic or exciting, but three days to ourselves with nothing much on the agenda besides sleeping in and lounging by the hotel pool sounds like a dream to me.
